Apple plans to pay $ 113 million as part of a settlement related to claims it has slowed down iPhones the old-fashioned way.

And 33 states in the United States have claimed that Apple has slowed down older phones in an effort to entice users to buy its new devices.

Millions of phones were affected by the downturn in iPhones 6, 7, and SE in 2016 in what has been called the “batteryygate” scandal.

Apple declined to comment, but previously said iPhones are being slowed down to preserve the useful life of old batteries.
