Apple took an unusual step in marketing, in an offer that some considered "hopeless" to boost sales that had fallen in recent years.
According to Bloomberg, the American company has offered its products at a reduced price, a marketing strategy it has not followed for more than 10 years.
Apple has announced the sale of its new phone, "iPhone XR", with a significant discount, although it is only two months to say it.
On the other hand, the company urged its marketing executives to increase sales of the new XS phone.
According to the site, the strategy was followed in 2007, when Apple decided to reduce the price of the new phone at that time, only 3 months after its launch.
The company cut the production of its three new phones last month after a sharp drop in consumer demand outside the United States.
Following the announcement of this new marketing strategy, the company's shares fell by 4%.
Apple has been heavily criticized since its latest phones, because of the sharp rise in its prices compared to the competition in the smartphone market.
