The General Union of Arab Journalists has expressed astonishment and strong condemnation of the misleading and baseless accusations published by Amnesty International, Forbidden Stories and other Western organizations against certain Arab countries.
The union said in a statement today, Saturday, that the organizations accuse some Arab governments of spying on the phones of journalists as well as politicians, opponents, heads of state and foreign ministers through the union. Pegasus program sold by the Israeli company “NOS”. .
The union stressed that these accusations, despite their gravity, are unfounded, especially since they go beyond the issue of spying on journalists.
The union said the Moroccan government asked Amnesty International to provide it with evidence proving the validity of what it published, but the organization refused to do so.
The General Union of Arab Journalists has strongly and forcefully rejected the baseless accusations published by Amnesty International, Forbidden Stories and other Western media organizations. This contradicts the mission of these organizations to work to protect the freedoms of the press and journalists.
