Ambassador Hossam Zaki, Assistant Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, said the Arab dialogue with Turkey and Iran would remain suspended until they are ready to change their political approach to the principle of respect sovereignty and stop supporting terrorism.

In an interview with the London-based Arab newspaper Asharq Al-Awsat on Tuesday, ahead of the Arab summit in Tunis, he said he hoped the summit would see serious action to restore Arab cohesion.

He stressed that the dialogue with Iran and Turkey "remained unresolved until the formation of the Arab position and consolidated their willingness to change their political approach to the principle of good neighborliness, respect for sovereignty , non-interference and stop supporting terrorism ".

"The situation in the Arab world has suffered many problems for many years due to landslides in some countries and has had a negative impact on the stability of the region and the slowdown in the process of development and political cohesion. As a result, the convening of the Arab League summit will be the most important opportunity to restore Arab cohesion and to cope with the existing political crises, and we hope that this summit will see serious work.

He explained that "the nature of the crises in question has reached the greatest complexity, because of the presence of non-Arab parties, intervening in a negative way and beyond the usual limit, and we find that we are faced with different accounts and that the agendas put everyone in a political stalemate and that discussing the solution is very difficult. "

He stressed that there was nothing new to restore Syria's place in the Arab League and that no "Arab country has submitted any formal application so far" .
