Arab League meeting tomorrow to study the situation of refugees in the member states

The sixth meeting of the joint commission of experts and representatives of the Ministries of Justice and the Interior of the Arab States will open tomorrow at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Arab League on the "Convention Arab States on the Status of Refugees in the Arab States ", at the joint invitation of the Secretariat of the League of Arab States. And the General Secretariat of the Council of Arab Ministers of the Interior for two days.

Planning Minister Yasser Abdel Moneim, director of the legal affairs department of the Arab League, said the meeting would conclude the discussion on the draft articles of the Arab Convention on the Status of Refugees in the Arab States. This decision is part of the implementation of Decision No. 1137 of the Arab Council of Arab Ministers of Justice. 22/11/2018, which states in its second paragraph that "another meeting of the Joint Committee, composed of experts and representatives of the Ministries of Justice and the Interior of the Arab States, will take place to examine the legal status of the Arab Convention on the Status of Refugees in the Arab States ", approved by the Council of the League of Arab Arab States".

He added that the formation of this committee was part of the efforts of the League of Arab States to activate and modernize the Arab Convention on the Status of Refugees, given the importance it attaches to the fight against the phenomenon. the influx of refugees into Arab countries and its important step towards the risks and challenges of mass exodus.
