New Zealand striker Gonzalo Higuain scored his first goal in the English Premier League by coaching Chelsea in the 5-0 Huddersfield Town demolition. Sun Hyung-min shone at the end to give Tottenham Hotspur a 1-0 win at Newcastle United and qualify for second place on Saturday.
Higuain had space to place a superb ball from a tight corner in the net in the 16th minute, then added his second goal with a shot that changed direction in the 67th minute.
Eden Hazard also scored two goals as David Luiz finished all five shots on goal to allow Chelsea to reverse the 4-0 defeat to Bournemouth last week, putting pressure on coach Maurizio Sari.
Chelsea are back in fourth place against Arsenal, who are third in Manchester City on Sunday, while Huddersfield are still six points behind Fulham. Liverpool, at the top of the standings, will face West Ham United on Monday.
