She added: “A Syrian is offering his 6-year-old son for sale in an old part of Damascus, due to his inability to simply provide food for his six children.”
She pointed out, “I see people picking up rotten tomatoes and leftover food thrown out of the trash … I see it with my own eyes.”
This came in light of the “famine” that hit areas of the Syrian regime, as voices of protest were raised against the economic deterioration that plagued the country, and in areas under Assad’s rule. .
The Assad regime used to clamp down on dissidents with the immediate arrest of a number of activists, including figures from its media institutions, such as the Hala Al-Jarf TV channel.
