US astronomers have suggested that NASA erect a telescope with a mirror diameter of 100 meters on the surface of the moon to monitor the farthest and faintest stars that developed in the early ages of the universe , according to a spokesperson for the University of Texas in America, citing an article they published in The Astrophysical Journal, and the article said that the so-called Third Generation Stars never looked like to the Sun and other current stars. This is for the reason that its interior did not contain chemical elements heavier than hydrogen and helium. Therefore, these stars were colossal in size and increased their mass hundreds of times the mass of the sun.
Third generation stars burned very quickly, that is, in a few million years due to their large dimensions and chemical components. And they exploded after the hydrogen stores ran out and generated unstable supernova stars that sent intense lightning bolts into space resulting from the ultra-powerful thermonuclear explosion. These lightning bolts were implanted in galaxies and surrounding space with minerals that formed the basis of stars like the sun and others that scientists call first and second generation stars, and astronomers were able to there a few years ago, measure some of the specifications of these stars based on the spectra of the oldest galaxies in the universe. But they have not been able to receive full information about it.
Astronomers performed calculations to determine the dimensions of telescopes that could observe stars of the first generation, and the calculations showed that the telescope must have a mirror with a diameter of 100 meters and not be exposed to external influences. , including interference caused by Earth activity so that scientists can observe first-generation stars. NASA is to install the telescope inside one of the moon’s south pole craters, which is characterized by the strength of low gravity and the lack of a gaseous atmosphere.
