Businessman Kirill Louis Dreyfus, 23, finalized the purchase of Sunderland on Thursday, becoming the youngest owner of an English Premier League club across all its divisions.
Dreyfus acquired 60% of Sunderland’s shares, for £ 22million, and thus became the owner of the club’s largest stake.
📰 Sunderland AFC today received approval from @EFL for Kyril Louis-Dreyfus to acquire a majority stake in the club, marking the start of a new era on Wearside.
Louis-Dreyfus also becomes the new president of the club with immediate effect.

Kirill Louis Dreyfus is one of the three sons of Franco-Swiss billionaire Robert Louis Dreyfus, former CEO of the sportswear company “Adidas” and former owner of Marseille Football Club, the giant of the French league.
Robert Louis Dreyfus died in 2009 and his entire fortune was managed by his wife, Margarita Dreyfus.
According to Forbes magazine, Margarita’s fortune is estimated at 4.6 billion pounds, while her son Kirill Louis Dreyfus holds this share, 1.5 billion pounds.
It should be noted that Sunderland has suffered a setback in recent years as it was relegated from the English Premier League to the First Division and then to the Second Division, in which it has been since 2018.
Sunderland has already won the Premier League 6 times, the last in 1936.
