Faisal Al-Hafian, director of the Institute of Arab Manuscripts, said that thousands of manuscripts had been sent to Arab countries in recent centuries, which forced the cause on the Day of the Arabic Manuscript, celebrated in April of each year.

The Arab Organization for Education, Culture and Science (ALECSO) launched the initiative of the Arab Days of the manuscript in 2013 and was adopted by the Arab Ministers of Culture.

At its 7th session, this year's celebration will be under the theme "Dissolved Manuscripts". The first day will be devoted on April 3 to the new central library of Cairo University for the opening of the protocol and the celebration of the delegations of Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Palestine, D & B Oman and Morocco.

The next day, symposia and discussions of the scientific day will be held at the headquarters of the Institute of Arab Studies and Research Dokki District.

"Thousands of manuscripts have been released from Arab countries over the centuries – there are now thousands in the Chester Betty Library, at the Escorial Museum, in Spain and in Russia," said Hafian, a Syrian on the sidelines of the opening of the Book Fair of Alexandria. This year, on the occasion of the Arab Manuscripts Day, the Institute of Arab Manuscripts honors the name of the Kuwaiti Abdullah Hamad Maharib (1947-2017), former director general of ALECSO, who has has been chosen as the official character of the year, as well as the Association of Mohammedia scholars in Morocco, The Journal of Heritage Publications of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia ", published in eight volumes by Ahmed Al-Dabbayeb , chosen as the Heritage Book of the Year.

The Arab Manuscripts Day is accompanied by three exhibitions, the first for manuscripts of manuscripts, the second for the tools of the Arab manuscripts industry and the third for the publications of the Institute of Arab Manuscripts.
