Many iPhone users sometimes restart their devices to avoid updates that occur at an inconvenient time, but this process, while simple, is not without risk.
All that is required is for an iPhone user to press the button on the right side of the phone and then the "Swipe / Shut Down" message until the device stops.
According to Sky News, technical expert Burton Kelso says the restart of the iPhone does not cause any damage when it is normal, but it is different when this step occurs when the device is loaded for updates.
Kelso pointed out that disabling the device during the update can result in the loss of all iPhone phone data and can turn the phone into something that is not fully usable.
The expert recommends that users allow enough time for updates to be downloaded to the iPhone, even if they arrive at a time of the day inconvenient.
