Barcelona refused to consider the goal of the first derby team against Espanyol as an inverted goal of the Marca newspaper.
Marca is the sponsor of the Golden Shoe Award and the official document on which the contest organizers rely.
The decision to meet Derby was written in his report that Messi is Barça's first goal scored a free kick against Espanyol.
The Marca newspaper, for its part, was not based on the referee's report and calculated Espanyol's goal of "friendly fire" in his own goal, which angered fans in Barcelona where Messi scored only 30 goals in the conflict to win the Golden Shoe.
Cillian Mbabi of Paris-St Germain scored 27 goals, allowing Barcelona fans to come out of the net and scream on Twitter to claim the goal for Messi.
Gareardo, managing director of the newspaper Marca, said a team would review Messi's goal before deciding whether to count the Argentine player or an inverted goal.
