The number of kilometers traveled by motorists in the United States fell 8.8% in October, as millions of Americans continued to work from home and avoided traveling to tourist destinations amid the virus pandemic Corona.
The Department of Transportation said vehicle drivers on U.S. roads traveled 259 billion kilometers in October, down 25 billion kilometers from the same month last year.
In the first 10 months of this year, driving in the United States fell 13.9%, from 380.7 billion kilometers, to 2.35 billion kilometers.
This year, driving in America is heading to the lowest pace in nearly two decades.
