The stadium in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) decided to close the stadium to host the matches because of riots between the Vita Club match in St Eloi Lobo in the local league.

The Al-Shuhada stadium witnessed riots by supporters of the Vita Club during the showdown, which resulted in many financial losses in the stadiums in particular.

"We continue to pay for the riots caused by the bad intentions, which has been repeated in previous matches of the Congolese league.The stadium will be closed to determine the extent of losses and repair," announced his administration in a statement.

The stadium management has decided to close during the current period of losses and repairs, less than two weeks before the Vita Club clash with Al Ahly in the African Champions League.

Al Ahly will host the Vita Club on March 9 as part of group 5 Group D matches.

Al-Ahly beat the Vita Club 2-0 in the first round, while the next clash was expected to give a positive result for the campaign for the African Cup of Nations to continue.
