Google said Chrome users around the world could block annoying ads from the middle of the year, once the feature is available only in North America and Europe.
The announcement came from Google hours after a statement from "Alliance for Better Advertisements", to which Google joined in 2017.
The instruction identifies 12 types of ads that users will be allowed to block, including contextual ads and those containing videos automatically played with audio.
According to Google, the ad blocking feature will be available to Chrome users worldwide as of June 9th.
