Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay will lead the three groups of the 2018 Copa America, according to a ranking released Thursday by FIFA.
The Confederation of South American Football Associations (CONA) decided last November to rank the teams according to the latest FIFA rankings.
The other 9 teams were selected based on the FIFA rankings, with Brazil ranking third, also taking the lead as host country. The other teams were classified as follows:
Rank 1: Brazil (3), Uruguay (7), Argentina (11)
Rank 2: Colombia (12), Chile (13), Peru (20)
Third place: Venezuela (31), Paraguay (32), Japan (50)
Fourth place: Ecuador (57th), Bolivia (59th), Qatar (93rd)
The Copa America 2019 will take place from June 14 to July 7 in 6 Brazilian courts, after 30 years in the country of Samba.
Morumbi will host the opening match, which will feature Brazil, while the final will be played at the Maracana stadium.
"Conmipol" invited teams from Japan and Qatar to participate in this tournament.
