Cabinet approves the application of the VAT refund system for tourists from the month of next October

The Council of Ministers adopted the decision to set up a VAT refund system for tourists from the fourth quarter of this year.

The system will include integrated direct connection systems between outlets and stores. Refund of VAT of 5% of the value of taxable purchases to tourists in cooperation with an international institution specialized in tax refund services from October this year after the completion of procedures in cooperation with the institutions and authorities concerned.

External Countries The VAT refund must be applied to purchases purchased from retailers participating in the system, provided that these goods are not excluded from the tax system through designated outlets declared by the tax administration federal during the introduction of the system.
