Universal Studios has canceled the publication of The Hunt, which deals with the violent prosecution of innocent victims following the controversy surrounding the recent shootings and statements by Donald Trump.

The Hunt was scheduled to debut in late September in the US, with award-winning actress Hilary Swank.

This film is a virulent critique of the deep divide that exists between the different American social classes and shows an extremely wealthy American elite chasing and killing in contempt only, the poor of the rural states considered a tradition of the Republican fortress (Wyoming, Mississippi and others ).

The scenes of violence shown on the promotional ribbon at the end of July have been widely criticized, especially since the United States is witness to shooting, the last of which left 31 dead on 3 August.

Donald Trump commented on the film, which portrays its supporters in a cynically too expensive way.

"Liberal Hollywood is extremely racist with a lot of anger and hate!" Without explicitly mentioning "The Hunt".

Trump, regularly accused of racism, added: "They create their own violence and then blame others for being racist and they are very bad for the country."

"Universal Pictures has already suspended the promotional campaign of The Hunt and decided, after careful consideration, to suspend the release of the film," said a spokesman for Universal in a statement received by AFP. .

"We support bold filmmakers and visionaries, as conservatives of this satirical social thrill, but we know that the moment is not conducive to showing it."

The film was directed by Craig Zobel ("Z for Zacharie", 2015) and was written by Damien Lindolff, the writer of the "Lost" series.
