Sadio Mani was a constant threat to Bayern Munich's defense

Liverpool surprised Germany by surprising Bayern Munich, the Bundesliga champion, and beating them 3-1 in the Champions League, while Barcelona beat Olympique Lyon 5-0.

The quarter-finals of this season's Champions League quarter-finals were played in the presence of four English teams for the first time since the 2008-2009 season – Liverpool, Tottenham, Manchester City and Manchester United.

The game of courage and vigilance

Liverpool and Bayern Munich started their second match with great caution to avoid the result of the first match, which ended at Anfield without any goal. Liverpool had to sign up to open the door in the hope of a qualification, while Bayern had to avoid a surprise goal complicating his position.

Both players were confused in the first minutes of the match, losing many balls in midfield at the expense of the opposing team and Robert Lwandowski and Frank Ribery having failed to break through Liverpool's defense, neither Mohamed Salah and Roberto Fermino were not able to threaten German goalkeeper Manuel Noyer.

But Sadeo Mani's extraordinary speed and vigilance allowed him to open the scoring in the 26th minute when he rushed to a smart pass from defender Virgil Vandayek, taking advantage of a unsuccessful exit of the goalkeeper Black to place the ball in an empty German net.

Banny's goal was complicated by Manny's goal, which had been forced to score two goals in the quarter-finals. He received a gift from Liverpool defender Joel Matip, who scored the equalizer in the 39th minute, under pressure from striker Bairn and Lwendowski.

In the second half, the German offensive line was trying to intensify its attacks through Khamis Rodríguez, Ribery and Landoski, but Liverpool's defense was remarkably consistent with the outstanding captain, Van Dyck, and his replacement. Robinho, who had left Jordan Henderson after beating him.

Over time, Liverpool's players gained more self-confidence, letting their region threaten landowners and forcing them to retire to their bases. In the 69th minute, van Dyck took the lead from James Milner and put it in Black's net to give his team a chance and give him great hope of qualifying for the quarter-finals.

Liverpool continued to play with great courage and precision throughout the match. Their efforts resulted in Mani's third goal in the 84th minute with a surprise header, the 10th goal in Senegal's record with 10 matches.

Messi went from here

Barcelona had to score in the net after a goalless match in France. Lyon had to face the dangerous pointers of Messi, Suarez, Dembele and Coutinho at a Catalan evening that turned into a nightmare for the French team.

Messi strikes again

There was only 17 minutes left before Messi opened the scoring for Barcelona. Coutinho doubled the lead after 31 minutes, but Tusar left a glimmer of hope in Lyon when he reduced the lead in the 58th minute.

The relative control of Barcelona on the game is continued. His players were more aggressive than their rivals, while the Lyonnais were trying to adopt surprise counter-attacks, but their attempts were not going to spoil the Barcelona defense led by Gerard Becky.

Lyon opened its doors to the Barcelona attacks and Messi managed to add a third goal in the 78th minute, followed by Becky with a fourth goal in the 81st minute. Dembele completed the goal with a fifth goal in the 86th minute, completing the quarterfinals of Barcelona.
