The Chinese drone maker, which Washington and dozens of Chinese companies have blacklisted, has confirmed its products will remain for sale despite the sanctions.
A company representative said, “We are disappointed with the US Department of Commerce’s decision … US customers can continue to purchase and use our products normally.”
Reuters quoted a senior US official on Friday that his country had included the Chinese company “SZ DJI Technology”, which manufactures drones, on its economic blacklist.
The US Department of Commerce official said, “The economic restrictions will apply to the company later, after the announcement of the full list of new Chinese companies that will be covered by the sanctions.”
Reuters earlier said dozens of Chinese companies would be blacklisted, including chipmaker SMIC.
