Google has announced that Chrome warned users against the use of hacked and unsecured passwords in Internet sites and services, but requires the installation of Password Checkup, recently released by the company.
Google has shown that if the user installed the plug-in, a warning message will appear when a username and password that have been posted to the web are entered after hacking or theft of data and become known in the password verification service. The company confirmed that the process of comparing user entries and the Google database was done in real time and that it was fully encrypted.
The Mozilla Firefox browser already warns users since the end of 2018 when they are browsing a compromised or leaked website.
