Colon cancer ranks second in Qatar among the most prevalent

The Ministry of Public Health, in cooperation with Hamad Medical Corporation, the Foundation of Primary Health Care and the Qatar Cancer Society, is working to raise public awareness of colon cancer, the importance of prevention and early detection of cancer, as well as access to screening programs available in Qatar.
Colorectal cancer is the second most common cancer in men with 94 cases and ranks third among the most common cancers in women, with 51 cases. Among the total cancer cases in women.
The greatest number of infections was recorded in the age group of 50 to 59 years, while more than 50% of cases were diagnosed in the age group greater than 55 years.
