Discontent was widespread in the Jordanian street as a result of a celebration organized by the Amman municipality on the occasion of the 57th birthday of King Abdullah II.
The event, hosted by Amman Mayor Youssef Al-Shawarbeh, hosted controversial personalities, including Kuwaiti exhibitor Halima Boland, Lebanese press Anabella Hilal and Egyptian actress Safia al-Omar.

The growing anger and demands for dismissal of the mayor of Amman prompted the Secretariat to issue a statement motivating the celebration. "The purpose of the event was to support a national arts event organized by the Hope Foundation for Production," he said.
"The ceremony was held to launch national songs, and the organization looked like mistakes that did not go out of its national character," the Secretariat said in a statement.
Yousef Al-Shawarabah said the secretariat did not spend dinars for the ceremony, noting that the support method was limited to logistical support.
Later, producer Mohamed Al-Majali, the organizer of the event, revealed that Halima Polland would go to court to hold the Jordanians accountable.
"I am so jealous that I will be insulted by all the hiccups, because they insult me and guide me, I left my country on the day of the National Day of Kuwait and Jet for you ", did he declare.
