British Airways, which is suffering economically as a result of the coronavirus crisis, has announced that it will sell dishes used in planes and items from the “Boeing 747” plane that it has withdrawn from its fleet.

According to Agence France-Presse, champagne glasses, first-class tableware, socks, blankets and even trolleys are among the items on sale to “recreate a magical flying experience at home”.
The company has also decided to sell the works exhibited in its reception rooms in order to improve its financial conditions.
IAG, which owns the airlines of British Airways and Iberia, has lost 5.6 billion euros since the start of the year, including 1.76 billion euros in the third quarter.
In order to overcome the crisis, IAG implemented a major restructuring, including the loss of 13,000 jobs at British Airways.
The group has also reduced its capital expenditure, postponed an order for 68 new aircraft until 2022, and decided to withdraw the “Boeing 747” “jumbo jet” aircraft from its fleet before the scheduled date.
