Some parents practice physical violence against their children as a form of punishment, claiming that they are eager to discipline them and correct their behavior.
Recent studies have shown that this type of breeding is extremely dangerous.
The portal “Akhbar Al-Youm” reported that being subjected to corporal punishment at a young age causes a great deal of psychological or mental problems, such as anxiety or depression in adults.
Corporal punishment comes in many forms, including:
Slapping with the hand or hitting the stick or belt in childhood
Violently shake the child or pull their hair or ears
Forcing the child to do things without explaining the reasons, such as forcing the child to brush their teeth, but not telling them about the benefits of brushing their teeth, for example.
Physical abuse also causes the child to experience low self-esteem, emotional instability in adulthood, and behavioral problems such as aggression towards colleagues and failure at school.
Therefore, mental health experts advise following disciplinary methods that do not affect the health of the child, such as isolating him for 30 minutes in a well-ventilated place, or removing whatever he prefers such as candy. or prevent him from watching TV, and after the 30 minutes have passed, calmly talk to the child and give him advice and listen to his point of view.
