"Culture" unveils its vision and orientations for the cultural sector in Saudi Arabia

"Farhan": the ministry will have an important role to play in the realization of the 2030 vision

Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan, Minister of Culture, announced the vision and direction of the Ministry of Culture in Saudi Arabia.

The ceremony was held at King Abdul Aziz's Historic Center in Riyadh, in front of a large audience representing various sectors of culture, arts and heritage in Saudi Arabia, alongside senior government officials, eminent Saudi intellectuals and artists and leaders from around the world.

The program included musical pieces belonging to the Saudi heritage and a dinner hosted by His Highness Prince Badr bin Abdullah, Minister of Culture of the National Museum.

Prince Badr Bin Abdullah bin Farhan expressed his thanks and gratitude to the guardian of the two holy mosques, King Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud and His Highness the Crown Prince for preserving their vision and setting up a special Ministry of Culture in Saudi Arabia.

The Ministry of Culture will play a major role in realizing Saudi Arabia's vision by 2030. It will lead efforts to develop the cultural and artistic sectors in Saudi Arabia, enriching the style. of life of individuals and encouraging expression and cultural dialogue. Emphasizing that the ceremony today is the first step of the march of the Ministry of Culture.

"We look forward to working with all members of Saudi society to build a thriving cultural sector and create an environment that encourages creative and talented people," he said. And I believe there are many in our society, and what we are presenting today is our vision and our direction to support the realization of Saudi Arabia's 2030 vision in a cultural setting that celebrates our identity. and take care of it as a source of pride and pride.

The concert witnessed the participation of a kind of orchestral orchestra led by the musician Michel Fadel, while the poet Bader Ben Abdelmohsen presented creative poetic paintings in a musical epic entitled "The Kingdom of the Love, peace ", in which singers of different artistic generations sing.

During the ceremony, the vision and orientations of the Ministry of Culture were unveiled, defining three main aspirations: to devote culture as a way of life, culture for economic growth and culture in order to strengthen the international status of Saudi Arabia.

In addition, 27 initiatives have been announced to achieve these aspirations, which is the first set of initiatives.

Some of the most important initiatives include the creation of the King Salman International Arabic Language Complex, the creation of the Cultural Growth Fund, the launch of the Cultural Fellowship Program, the establishment of public libraries and the creation of the International Film Festival. the Red Sea.

These 27 initiatives bring together 16 cultural sectors served by the ministry: language, heritage, books and publishing, music, film and visual arts, performing arts, poetry, visual arts, libraries, museums, natural heritage, cultural and archaeological sites, fashion, festivals and events, architecture and interior design are all cultural routes in which Saudi talent is active in various parts of Saudi Arabia.

The ministry will oversee these areas through 11 new entities, which will be put in place to track and support the implementation of initiatives.

The ceremony is the official release of the Ministry of Culture, which was established in Ramadan 1439 AH (corresponding to June 2018) under the Royal A / 217 order.

Its mission is to enable the Saudi cultural scene to reflect the long history of the Kingdom and contribute to building a future that cherishes heritage and opens new avenues for creativity and cultural expression.
