The Director General of Riyadh Region Health Affairs, Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al-Tuwaijri, inaugurated the second edition of the "Health Performance" program for the year 2019, which is being implemented. by the Ministry of Health to raise the levels of productivity, efficiency and quality of health services in hospitals, in line with the strategic goals of the coming national transformation. The vision of the kingdom, Wednesday morning 27 Dhu Al-Hijjah 1440 AH in the grand hall of the headquarters headquarters in Riyadh, in the presence of the consulting company (PWC) and the participation of several hospitals in the region.
Dr. Sattam bin Abdulaziz Al-Shiha, Deputy Director General of Therapeutic Services, explained that the program currently includes (3) the main hospitals where more than (40) performance indicators are applied in public hospitals and more than (100) indicators to measure performance in mental health (7). The service areas are: (emergency, clinics, operations, hypnosis, intensive care, radiology, laboratories) to achieve positive results in reducing wait times.
Dr. Al-Shiha confirmed that the Health Performance Program will include in its second edition, which begins today (12) public hospitals, two psychiatric hospitals, a hospital for women and deliveries, and (27) primary health care centers.
He emphasized that during program implementation phases (103), program and improvement projects have contributed to the improvement of a large number of performance indicators. This resulted in a positive difference in services and speed of access to beneficiaries, including: waiting time in the emergency to service, the proportion of unresolved cases in the service Urgency and duration of waiting to perform a magnetic scan or a scanner.
On this occasion, Riyadh Health organized a workshop on the health performance program, which reviewed the main achievements of the program and the means to maintain it, addressing some remarks and efforts to avoid them, as well as the role of the program in developing executive skills to manage indicators and discover areas for performance improvement. Quality standards and patient safety considered to measure patient and staff satisfaction levels. The workshop also addressed the challenges the program faces and how to deal with them.
