LONDON (Reuters) – Chelsea striker Aiden Hazard has led his country to a 3-0 win over Russia.
The two teams started their qualifying campaign for the Euro 2020 European Championship with a meeting on Belgian soil in the first round of Group E on Thursday night.
Yuri Telemans gave the advantage to Belgium with a goal in the 14th minute, but the visitors did not react too late: Denise Cherchev equalized in two minutes.
Hazard scored a second goal in the 45th minute before returning to the goal with a third goal in the 88th minute.
In the 90th minute, Russian Alexander Golovin was sent off after a second warning.
The Red Devils now collect the first three points of the group and Russia has no credit.
