Despite its liquidation, Debenhams stores will remain available in the Middle East شرق

Kuwaiti group Alshaya signed a new partnership agreement with Boohoo, the company that acquired the Debenhams brand last January.

Under the new agreement, the Alshaya Group retains the exclusive rights to operate the Debenhams stores and to launch a new online shopping site that will allow its customers to shop online for the first time from the Debenhams brand in the Middle East.

It should be noted that the Debenhams group of stores declared bankruptcy last year, and last January announced the permanent closure of its doors in Great Britain and the dismissal of thousands of employees, with the takeover of boohoo for 75 millions of dollars.

Alshaya had agreed with the Saudi Arabian Centers Company to launch a number of brands managed by the Alshaya group in three phases for the benefit of the centers.

The first phase will see the inauguration of a chain of “Starbucks” cafes in a number of the company’s centers, where the opening of its first branch will take place on Thursday, July 15, 2021 at the Al Nakheel shopping center in Riyadh.
