The conversion process takes between two to four hours, depending on the type of car, the conversion cost between 5000 pounds for a car carburetor and about 7500 for cars with electronic fuel injection. The cost also varies depending on the type of conversion kit and the number of cylinders that will be installed in the car. The car is much more natural, the oil ministry supporting the difference, with the aim of encouraging citizens to convert their cars to natural gas.
The cost of the transfer includes facilities to pay the value of the transfer, through installment payment systems and through simplified procurement procedures such as a photo ID card, a car license and a recent delivery of "electricity – gas – water".
It should be mentioned that the two automobile gas companies belonging to the Ministry of Petroleum "Gaztec and Cargas", in cooperation with the Enterprise Development Authority in previous years, aim to finance the conversion of vehicles to natural gas, providing low-interest loans to vehicle owners for conversion to natural gas vehicles at the lowest rate of interest and with the lowest interest. The transfer of cars in the branches and stations of the two companies scattered in most of the governorates of the Republic and using the latest advanced technologies in this area, which allows to create a large number of employment opportunities in different governorates of the Republic, financed the conversion of approximately 34,000 cars. The value of 172 million pounds, which resulted in the provision of the amount of 472 million pounds.
The Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources is working on an integrated plan to increase the number of converted cars and stations served, with the goal of converting 50,000 cars to natural gas as fuel during fiscal 2019 / 2020, which represents an unprecedented record in this activity, and this rate is expected to increase over these years. Given the growing demand from citizens for car conversions, the network of stations, which currently has 187 stations and 72 conversion centers in the country, continues to grow.
