Lieutenant General Dhahi Khalfan, Deputy Director General of the Public Security Sector in Dubai, UAE, hailed the rise of the Qatari team in the quarter-finals of the Asian Cup to United Arab Emirates.

The Qatari team had a 1-0 win over their Iraqi counterpart at Al-Wahda Al-Nahyan stadium in the 16th round of the Asian Cup in the United Arab Emirates.

Bassam Hisham Al-Rawi scored the only goal in the 62nd minute of the match, allowing the Qatar team to qualify for the quarter-finals of the tournament.

Iraq was second in Group D with 7 points, while Al-Rafidain beat Vietnam 3-2 and Yemen 3/0, tied with Iran without goals.
