Diary: Ronaldo’s mother opposes his marriage to Georgina

Spanish newspaper “Marca” reported that Dolores Aveiro, mother of player Cristiano Ronaldo, opposes her son’s marriage to his girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez, as she believes the latter has economic reasons behind the marriage.

The newspaper stressed that “it seems that the Portuguese star Ronaldo is very happy with his relationship with the Argentinian model Rodriguez, who shares a family life in Manchester, where they live with Cristiano Junior, Eva, Mateo and Alana”.

She added: “Rodriguez is awaiting Ronaldo’s marriage proposal, but his family is the main stumbling block to a potential marriage.”

According to the newspaper, the media quoted a source close to Ronaldo as saying “Aveiro thinks the two parties should not get married because Georgina’s motive is to take advantage of her son’s money.”

The newspaper added that “apparently Aveiro’s other sons think the same, which means that opposition to the wedding bells within the groom’s family is strong.”

And the newspaper continued: “Time will tell if the Manchester United striker listens to his mother.”
