Technical reports have revealed that the US company “Apple” now has foldable prototype screens for internal testing, but has not yet developed a full prototype of the phone.
A source told “Bloomberg” of America that the American company is working on its foldable phone, which would compete with Samsung and Motorola devices.
The source added that the screen the company uses in its foldable phone depends on a hinge hidden behind a screen, instead of designing two separate screens that some competitors use.
Apple’s patent showed a unique approach to the foldable screen problem, creating a unique mechanism that pulled the screen at a slight angle around the hinge.
When the device is opened flat, the hinge has two internal support panels that rotate into place at the bottom of the display to keep the device flat. These panels act as small supports that lift the screen up and keep it from sagging.
Apple’s design of the first foldable display is a radical step for the pioneering company that introduced the world’s first touchscreen with the launch of the first iPhone in 2007. Analysts have explained that “Apple” will master its foldable phone, so it can keep pace with its competitors.
Samsung, Apple’s biggest competitor, is the first company to launch a foldable smartphone, the Galaxy Fold, in 2019.
Despite its already significant efforts, analysts have revealed that the Galaxy Fold’s screen is full of flaws and prone to malfunctions, and Samsung has previously admitted that the phone has fallen short of expected sales.
