Disney's director resigns from Apple's board of directors for video broadcasting services

Disney CEO Bob Iger has asked to resign from Apple's board after the two companies compete in the online broadcast.

With Apple's official announcement of the Apple TV Plus service, it is in direct competition with Disney, which also has its own streaming service called Disney +.

Iger has been a member of Apple's board of directors since 2011, but the relationship between the two companies in 2006 is due to the Pixar acquisition by Disney by Apple's founder, Steve Jobs .Iger played a decisive role in the acquisition.

As part of the acquisition, Disney became Apple's largest shareholder as an individual shareholder and thus took a seat on the board of directors.

This resignation is common in companies when they become directly competitive to avoid conflicts of interest.

In 2009, Google CEO Eric Schmidt resigned from Apple's board of directors after Google's Android system became a direct competitor of Apple's iOS system.

Disney offers a much cheaper video streaming service that costs up to half of Apple's subscription fees, which clearly increases the competition between the two. Disney Plus will be officially launched on November 12th.
