NEW YORK (Reuters Health) – Women who eat fried chicken every day can increase their risk of premature death by 13% in those who avoid such foods, according to a US study.
The study, published by Reuters on Sunday, showed that fried fish is hardly better for health;

Eating fried foods increases the total number of calories, and therefore the risk of obesity is associated with a higher risk of death, said lead researcher Wei Bao of the University of Iowa.
Bao pointed out that the study took into account the total caloric intake, lifestyle and level of obesity, after excluding the effects of these factors, a correlation between the fried foods and death in general, as well as deaths from cardiovascular disease.
"The study brings new evidence that the cooking method can turn healthy foods into foods with a significant negative effect on health," said Dr. Clyde Yancy of the School of Medicine. 39, University of Vinnburg, Chicago.
To conduct this study, researchers examined data from a food questionnaire of approximately 107,000 women aged 50 to 79 who participated in the Women's Health Initiative study between 1993 and 2017.
During the follow-up period, 3,588 women died, including 9,320 with heart problems and 8,358 with cancer.
Previous research has linked fried foods, increased risk of obesity, heart disease and diabetes, but their association with premature death was unclear.
To evaluate the consumption of fried foods, the researchers examined what participants had said about the consumption of certain foods at the start of their study enrollment, including fried chicken, fried fish, fries and other foods cooked in the same way.
