Saudi Arabia will kick off its 17th Asian Nations Cup when it meets North Korea at Maktoum Bin Rashid Stadium in North Korea on Tuesday.
The draw drew Saudi Arabia to Group E with North Korea, Qatar and Lebanon.
Saudi supporters are optimistic about the possibility of crowning for the fourth time in its history the "green" team champion of the Asian Nations Cup, with its current version in the UAE. The UAE witnessed the final crowning of the Saudi Arabian Cup team in 1996.
In the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia played in six matches in the Asian Cup, with only one defeat against Iran in the group stage, while Thailand, Iraq and China, Iran and the United Arab Emirates United.
Saudi Arabia fears the "curse of debut" against North Korea in the match, where it failed to win the start of its Cup of Asia tournaments only "twice" against Thailand and Syria 6 to 0 and 2 to 1 at the 1996 editions held in the UAE and 2011 in Qatar.
While Saudi Arabia has been beaten in three opening matches against China, Syria and Japan in 2015, 2011 and 2000, with a score of 0-1, 1-2 and 1.4 respectively.
Saudi Arabia lost 3-0 in their first Asian matches against China, South Korea and Turkmenistan in 1992, 1984 and 2004, with 1-1, 1-1 and 2-2 respectively.

The match between Saudi Arabia and North Korea will take place at 19:00 Tuesday, Mecca time, at 20:00 Abu Dhabi time and at 18:00 Cairo time.
The match was broadcast on BN Sports Max 1 and 2, with the voice of Tunisian commentator Essam Al-Shawali, and also on Al-Kuf Extra 1 and 2 by commentators Khalil Al-Baloushi and Ibrahim Al-Hishal.
