Eating half a light bulb a day saves you the life of a deadly disease

A new study found that eating half a light bulb a day can reduce the chances of bowel cancer.
The researchers found that daily consumption of at least 44 grams of green onions and garlic could reduce the risk of contracting this deadly disease.
In a study of 1,666 men and women who ate 74 grams of onions a day (an average half-bulb), they were 79% less likely to have bowel cancer than those who ate fewer onions.
"It seems that the more the consumption of onions and garlic is important, the better is the protection against cancer," said Dr. Zi Li from the first hospital of the University of Chinese Medicine.
The researchers said the onions contained biologically active compounds, which could protect against cancer, but explained that the cooking process reduced the expected benefits.
Susanna Brown, of the Global Fund for Cancer Research, said people should focus on their overall diet as it relates to diet and cancer prevention.
