As for medical complications, which can happen to the doctor, he explained that these are problems that arise after surgical interventions in different proportions and the possibility of their occurrence, and the complications can reach death, in case of cancer and accidents, pointing out that in severe cases the patient’s family or the patient himself is signed An annotated statement in which the complications that occur routinely, stressing that this is something that occurs in all hospitals in the world, and it is a complication known to all doctors, and its percentages are very low, amounting to 1% during surgery, indicating that if it happens at a rate higher than that, it requires a legal responsibility
And about the sanction that a doctor can incur if he causes a medical error, as happened in the case of Yasmine Abdel Aziz, he explained that there are ways of reporting to the General Union and to the Public Prosecutor’s Office which governs the Penal Code, and that the Union itself has a Professional Ethics Commission, a Complaints Commission and a Disciplinary Commission, which includes an adviser from the Council of State, who investigates the complaint received and determines the percentage of medical error and negligence, specifying that the penalties range from warning to temporary suspension of work or withdrawal of the license to practice the profession for small and large periods, and can achieve final expungement from union records if the error is serious.
