A new case facing Egyptian actress Rania Youssef after appearing on a TV show about two weeks ago, in which she spoke very boldly, which sparked anger against her , and the submission of a judicial report.
Indeed, the prosecution for the offense of Qasr al-Nil has set for February 21 the holding of the first session of the trial of the artist, Rania Youssef, for flagrant public action, corruption and insult to religions, after an Egyptian lawyer brought a complaint against her.
The lawyer based her case on Rania Youssef’s appearance on a show with an Iraqi broadcaster, and her speech in a way some deem inappropriate, after the conversation touched her body, and she used a Quranic verse lost during the conversation.
The artist’s intervention sparked widespread controversy with the presentation of the show’s episodes, which prompted her to step out and talk about its exploitation by the Iraqi broadcaster, after saying he had it. “Tense”.
She indicated that she was drawn to talking about these issues and was afraid not to answer the questions, causing an Egyptian-Iraqi crisis, which prompted her to end the interview.
Rania Youssef tried to defend her use of the Quranic verse in the TV interview, explaining that she was not trying to justify what she was talking about, especially since some misunderstood what she wanted to deliver.
Days after the interview, the Iraqi broadcaster came out to apologize for what was mentioned in the episode, and angered the Arab audience for what was mentioned on the show.
It will not be the first time that Rania Youssef has faced a legal crisis due to her appearance, as the case has been repeated a lot before, and perhaps the most salient thing that has happened in this case is her appearance in an inappropriate dress at the opening of the Cairo Film Festival in the previous session.
The naked dress led to her being sued by an Egyptian lawyer, before the investigation into the case was ultimately saved.
Rania Youssef also had a famous seizure years ago with her ex-husband. She got into a feud with the father of her two daughters, the producer, Muhammad Mukhtar, and accused him of refraining from spending on his two daughters, before she took sole responsibility, and then was became controversial with each appearance of her.
A few months ago, Rania Youssef tried to take a new path in the face of the crimes of harassment, after having published, through her accounts on social networks, photos of people who, according to her, had harassed her, and confirmed that she would take this approach to confront them.
