Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources has revealed that the production capacity of the Zohr field has increased to 2.7 billion cubic feet per day of natural gas.

Tariq al-Mulla said in a statement on Wednesday that the increase had been advanced about four months compared to the planned date in the land development plan.

He pointed out that this increase comes after the completion and commissioning of the second line of sea of ​​a diameter of 30 inches and a length of 215 km and commissioning at the mid-August, linking wells in the southern part of the Dhahr field to production, bringing the number of wells currently produced to 12.

He said that the current production of the Zohr field has represented eight times the production in about two years since the beginning of the production of the field in December 2017.

For his part, Petrobel's chief stated that the company had been charged with developing the field. She managed to place the first production phase on the production chart in December 2017 through the stages of increased production and completion of operations of the fifth, sixth and seventh stations. remaining production in the first quarter of this year.

Atef Hassan explained that this had a significant impact on the increase of the capacity of the ground station as well as on the development of the maritime control platform to accommodate the second 160 km electro-hydraulic cable, completed. last March to control wells in the southern region.
