Professor Ahmed El Masry, professor of general surgery and consultant in laparoscopy and obesity, member of the European and Egyptian Society for Obesity Surgery, explained to "Lifestyle" the seriousness of obesity for male fertility.
He said: Obesity causes an abnormality in the level of testosterone and sex hormones and is transformed into estrogen "femininity" hormone, and thus into a kind of hormonal imbalance in the body, which in turn leads to poor fertility and the mobility of sperm in men.
He pointed out the seriousness of obesity on the human body, especially male fertility, where many of the heavyweight owners possess low sperm counts.
He stressed the need to reduce excess weight, either by traditional methods or by safe surgical procedures such as gastric and gastric bypass and other operations, as well as by appropriate operations for patients.
