Egypt’s petroleum minister said today, Sunday, that oil subsidies fell by around 46% in the first quarter of the current fiscal year 2020-2021.

Minister Tariq Al-Mulla said in statements to Reuters that “subsidies for petroleum products fell to 3.9 billion pounds ($ 249.8 million) in the first quarter … from seven billion pounds which were in the budget, up from £ 7.25 billion a year ago. “
The Ministry of Finance aims to bring oil subsidies for the current fiscal year to £ 28.193 billion.
