Tunisian hopeful beat its Zimbabwe 2-0 platinum rivals in the second round of Group B of the African Champions League on Friday.
Taha Yassin Al-Khneisi starred for Esperance after scoring his goals in the 25th and 66th minutes.
Esperance raised its lead at the top of the standings four times and Platinum stopped at one point down the standings.
Esperance started their group stage with a 1-1 draw with the Guinean team, while Platinum pitted the Orlando Pirates to a goalless draw.
The Orlando Pirates will meet with the Guinness World Cup later in the day.
