Elon Musk, who brags about Tesla’s ingenuity, gives shocking review

Tesla CEO Elon Musk described the company’s latest beta driver assistance program, known as FSD Beta 9.2, as “not really cool” in a tweet.

“FSD Beta 9.2 is actually not great navigation software, but the Autopilot and AI teams are working to improve it as quickly as possible,” Musk wrote. “We are trying to have a model for highways and city streets, but it takes massive conversion.

Tesla sells the Full Autonomous Driving Capability (or FSD) package for $ 10,000 or $ 199 per month in the United States. The premium driver assistance system also doesn’t make Tesla electric cars safe to use without a vigilant driver behind the wheel.

Drivers generally prefer to keep their experiences private, although some public users of the FSD beta are allowed to post videos on social media showing and criticizing the latest features they’ve tried on US roads.

Regulators could one day decide not to allow vehicles to be tested with untrained drivers on public roads. But at this time, there are no laws that interfere with Tesla’s ability to conduct experiments with its customers.

Musk’s tweet on Monday came just days after he bragged about Tesla’s prowess in autonomous systems and components at an event called “Tesla AI Day.”

It also coincided with the launch of an official investigation into the autonomous driving system of Tesla cars by federal vehicle safety authorities in the United States last week.
