The US Embassy in Riyadh explained that those applying for a US visa should not make a non-refundable reservation before obtaining a visa.

"The visa process sometimes takes several weeks to several months," said the embassy in a brief statement on Twitter.

The Saudi Embassy has opened the door today to receive visa inquiries, to which the Consul General will respond directly.
