Al-Marsad Journal: British health experts recently urged to reconsider the delay between the two doses of the vaccine “Pfizer” against the emerging corona virus.
Scientists have called for reducing the period between the two doses to just six weeks, instead of the currently expected 12-week period, according to the UK’s “Sky News”.
This recommendation was issued by the British Medical Association, as the country moves forward with a mass vaccination campaign to immunize as many adults as possible against the infection causing “Covid 19”.
The UK Medicines and Health Products Regulatory Agency has set a 12 week difference to ensure more people get vaccinated sooner.
As for the company “Pfizer”, it adopted an interval of 21 days between the two doses when it carried out clinical trials to test the effectiveness against the infection.
And the president of the British Medical Association, Shand Nagpole, has expressed his desire to discuss with the government the period between the two doses.
He added that limiting it to an interval of six weeks would also ensure that a large number of people are vaccinated and that it is more in line with what other countries are doing.
