Ahmed Hassan, the general supervisor of football at Pyramids, said the result of the match between Zamalek and Al Ahly had been beneficial for his team.
Pyramids beat Petrojet 2-0 in the 27th round of the league to keep running after Zamalek and Al Ahly, who are in the front row of the table.
"We did not play any games for a long time and the team came back from comfort, so it was important to win to continue the competition," said Ahmed Hassan after the match on the EN Sports channel.
"In the second half, we were the best and we created a lot of opportunities and we translated the ball control into the goals."
"We have one goal: continue to compete until the end of the season."
"We can not talk about confrontation because of the stadium conditions and the inappropriate atmosphere," he said.
"But the end of the match in the draw was in our interest, and we definitely want to lose other points for Ahli and Zamalek."
Pyramids is third on the table with 51 points, one behind Al Ahly and three points behind leader Zamalek, but with two other matches.
