Newcastle United manager Rafael Benitez took the challenge of the leaders of the Liverpool Premier League before Wednesday's shock.
Newcastle will be the Liverpool guest at the 19th round of the competition at 5 pm Wednesday at Boxing Day in Anfield.
"I would like to go to Anfield to enjoy the game and come back with three points and I wish Liverpool every success for the rest of the season," Bennett told the Mirror newspaper on Wednesday morning.
"We have a plan to beat Liverpool and if we can do well with the mistakes made by the Reds, we can do it."
"With big teams, you have to do everything right and you have to have a bad day in which your opponent will have a chance."
Liverpool leads the English Premier League with 48 points.
While Newcastle is in 15th place with 17 points.
