Moroccan coach Vouzi Benzarti has named Al-Ahly to win the African Champions League title this year with Moroccan giants and Tunisian Tigers.
"The current version of the African Champions League will experience strong competition and the teams' experience will play an important role in conquering the title," Benzarti said in a radio interview.
"It is premature to talk about the title contender, but I'll say goodbye to Al Ahli and Al-Tarji for the Cup."
"Wydad is now well placed for the group stage and our goal now is to qualify for the quarter-finals and then proceed to regular stages towards the final."
"Since Wydad is the champion of the previous year, the team will definitely be a serious title contender."
"But some small details that change the results make it very difficult for the winner of the trophy."
Morocco's Wydad leads Group A in the Champions League with six points after three runs tied with South African Sun Dunes.
Wydad is expected to face the stars of Nigeria's lobby on Tuesday in the group's fourth round.
While Al Ahly faces Tanzanian Simba in the same round, the red giant leads Group D with 7 points.
