LONDON (Reuters) – Liverpool's Jimmy Carragher has criticized the actions of the Paris Saint-Germain players during a meeting on Wednesday night in the fifth leg of the Champions League, in comments to VIA Sport reported by the Spanish newspaper AS.
The Paris St Germain players had a lot of problems on the pitch during all contact, which caused their coach, Juergen Klopp, to describe them as attempts to convince the referee that the Liverpool players were butchers .
"It was very frustrating," said Carragher, "it was very frustrating, we started talking about some of the best players in the world, but watching them was shameful."
"If he continues to do so, people will forget that he is an excellent player and will only remember him with such childish acts."
"I feel bitter and I have no sympathy for the Paris St Germain players and the harsh criticisms of the Jorgen Club, his anger makes great sense."
"It's an excellent team that should not adopt such behavior and express themselves solely by using the ball," said Sky Channel analyst Tiago Silva.
"They should be ashamed, I do not really know how to go back to their wives and their families and talk naturally," he said.
"I think the chances of Liverpool and Napoli are equal now," said Carragher, "the Italian team knows it and also knows what's ahead for Anfield for the decisive game in December."
"I'm waiting for Liverpool to win the match, but they have to win by two goals and that's where the problem lies: in 2005, we had to beat Olympiacos by two goals and win 3-1.
Liverpool lost 2-2 at Park Parque, falling to third place in the third European death group, and has to beat Napoli in the last match by two goals to secure their place in the round of 16.
